We hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer! 2021-2022 online registration forms are available in SchoolMint for students who were enrolled in one of our FSHISD campuses during the 2020-2021 school year. If you have completed your student’s registration forms no further action is required for our returning families.”

Welcome to the FSHISD Family! The information below will help you through our registration process.
Attendance Areas and Enrollment Requirements
Joint Base San Antonio – Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis comprise the geographic boundaries of the Fort Sam Houston Independent School District. Families residing on these Installations are eligible to attend Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12.
Children must be four years old on or before Sept. 1 to enroll in pre-kindergarten and meet eligibility criteria established by State law. Children five years old on or before Sept. 1 may enroll in kindergarten and those six years old on or before Sept. 1 may enroll in first grade.
Online Registration
Registering new students to FSHISD is a three-step process. First, parents must create a SchoolMint portal account at, and second, complete enrollment application. The registration application requires parents registering students new to FSHISD to upload some documents (see list below) and verify documents in-person to verify eligibility.
Required Documentation
During the online registration process, you will be asked to upload copies of the following documents.
• Proof of residency (On the Installation - Copy of Minol Utility; Off the Installation - Water, electric or mortgage/lease) Contact your campus registrar with questions.
• Copy of birth certificate
• Immunization Record
• Social Security card
• Last report card/withdrawal from your child's previous school (if applicable)
• Any legal documentation pertaining to your student (if applicable)
• Enrolling parent’s driver’s license and military ID
• Copy of Military Orders
Families who do not live within the geographic boundaries of the Fort Sam Houston Independent School District, may be eligible to apply for our Non-Resident Transfer (NRT) program. Students not living on post will require the completion/approval of the Non-Resident Transfer application prior to the registration process. Completing the NRT application does not constitute approval. After the District reviews the application, you will receive an email notifying you of the application decision.
