Welcome to the Fort Sam Houston Independent School District! We are honored that you have chosen to enroll your child in our schools and look forward to working with you to ensure your child has an exceptional academic and extracurricular experience here at Fort Sam Houston ISD.

Attendance Areas and Enrollment Requirements

Joint Base San Antonio – Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis comprise the geographic boundaries of the Fort Sam Houston Independent School District. Children of military personnel residing on these Installations are eligible to attend Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12. Parents who do not meet this eligibility criteria may be eligible to apply for the Non-Resident Transfer (NRT) program and can learn more about the program at www.fshisd.net. Fort Sam Houston Elementary School, 4351 Nursery Road, serves grades PK-5. Robert G. Cole Middle and High School serves grades 6 – 12 and is located at 4001 Winans Road.

Children must be four years old on or before Sept. 1, 2016 to enroll in pre-kindergarten and meet eligibility criteria established by State law. Children five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2016 may enroll in kindergarten and those six years old on or before Sept. 1, 2016 may enroll in first grade. District transportation is not provided for pre-kindergarten students.

Online Registration

Fort Sam Houston ISD will use an online process to facilitate the registration process for all students, both current and new to the District. Parents benefit as they can complete registration documents 24/7 in the convenience of their home, eliminating the need to wait in lines to fill out paper forms. The process also helps the District reduce paper waste while creating a convenient, fast and accurate online registration experience.

Returning Student Online Registration Process

Parents of students who attended FSHISD schools in the 2015-2016 school year will complete an abbreviated online registration process unless the student was withdrawn at the end of the school year or if the parents have not been assigned quarters as of August 22, 2016.

Parents will update their student’s registration using their secure txConnect parent portal account password at https://txsuite20.txeis.net/tc015914/Login.aspx. While some parents are already utilizing the parent portal to check grades and attendance, account passwords will be mailed home to all parents meeting attendance area requirements the week of July 18. Once documents are completed and submitted in the parent portal, parents will be directed to the Chalk Schools site where they will complete forms for annual updates. Parents with questions regarding access may call 210-368-8707 through July 25. Parents should contact the elementary registrar beginning July 26 and the middle/high school registrar beginning July 28. Step-by-step instructions are available via links below.
