Free Time Management Seminar

The elementary school is hosting monthly parent workshops presented by the Family Life Educators from the JBSA Resiliency Center. FSHISD Seeking Board Members

The Fort Sam Houston Independent School District is soliciting for nominees to be considered for 2 openings on the Board of Trustees. The positions must be filled by either a military member or civilian living on or employed by Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston.To qualify for the board, a volunteer must be:

• 18 years of age or older
• U.S. citizen
• Qualified voter

Trustees will take an official oath of office and serve without compensation. Interested applicants must submit a resume no later than 5:00 p.m., February 28, 2018 to the School Liaison Officer at 2484 Stanley Road, Building 2263 Room 107B, Basement.

COLE JROTC SHINES AT INSPECTION!

The Robert G. Cole High School JROTC cadets have earned the highest score ever on their recent accreditation inspection. The cadets scored 199 points out of a possible 200, earning them an unprecedented 99.5%. The cadets worked extremely hard and their level of execution was simply beyond exceptional in all aspects.

Information Meeting on Graduation Requirements - RECORDED SESSION

On January 23, Cole held a Graduation Information Meeting. Our counseling team and academic support partners discussed graduation plans, endorsements, advanced academics, including dual credit, dual enrollment, and advanced placement, and the Alamo Academies program. Computer Science Students Find Bug in Facebook Code!

Cole High School students Parker Shuck and Brandon Guzman-Morales recently found a bug in a program from Facebook. While developing their own iOS app, the students downloaded the Facebook "API" code which would allow users in their app to log in using their Facebook account. But, the code they downloaded from Facebook didn't work. They were able to find the bug in the program and decided to email the engineers at Facebook to let them know. It was significant enough that the Facebook engineer that fixed the bug sent both students Facebook t-shirts, stickers, and $45 worth of Facebook coupons! Way to go, Parker and Brandon!

Cole Dominates Robotics Contest!

Cole dominated at the TCEA Robotics Contest (Advanced Arena level) as both high school teams placed in the top 3! Our 8th grade team also did a great job in the Intermediate Arena contest scoring a personal team best and ranked in the top 15 out of 38 teams! Culinary Arts Students Garner Awards!

The 8th Annual Cupcake Battle was recently  hosted by the University of Houston, San Antonio. The students traveled downtown on Friday October 27th to turn in their cupcakes and have a chance to scope out the other competitors. Four Cole students - Seniors Brielle Cooper, Charlyann Silva, and Eldred Brinson and Sophomore Maya Pike - took part in the cupcake competition. The day included lunch at Smoke, a tour of the Westin hotel, and an awards ceremony. The cupcakes the Cole students prepared included Caramel Corn Cupcakes, Italian Cream Cupcakes, Peach Cobbler Cupcakes, and Mocha Coffee Cupcakes.
