Cole Student Podcast Makes National Public Radio!

Six months ago, National Public Radio (NPR) challenged schools across the nation to get creative and produce podcasts for a national competition. Mrs. Garatoni took the challenge and her PreAP English II classes put on their broadcasting hats and got to work. On Tuesday, May 14th, NPR featured some of the high school podcast finalists in a piece on NPR’s evening news show, All Things Considered. Out of over 25,000 entries, Cole’s entry “Growing Up Military” was picked as a finalist and snippet of it was featured on the show. 10th graders Garrett Barnard, Joseph Huisken, and Julian Longoria created the podcast. It was very well received by NPR and is an accurate and thoughtful look at what it is like to be a military child. Way to go Cougars!
