Enrollment At The Military Cooperative
Under the Shared Service agreement, the Military School Districts' Special Education Cooperative serves students residing on the military installation of Fort Sam Houston, Lackland, and Randolph Field Independent School Districts. The Cooperative’s mission is to ensure that children identified with disabilities receive an appropriate educational program tailored to their specific needs. To achieve this objective, the Cooperative facilitates coordination among staff, resources, as well as policies and procedures across the three school districts on the military installation.
The Military School Districts’ Cooperative supports the districts in equipping our families, educators, and support staff with the necessary tools to aid children with special needs. Our aim is to ensure they have equal opportunities to participate in activities fostering their academic, physical, and social-emotional development.
The Military School Districts’ Cooperative serves military families stationed on Fort Sam Houston, Lackland and Randolph Field ISD. Annually there is an average mobility rate of 30% due to military moves and relocations (PCS). While these moves can happen at any time, a significant portion occurs between July and September, and again between December and January. Because of the transient nature of our military family population, the Cooperative reserves its capacity for resident student enrollment.
