Strictly Online Processing: No. Fort Sam Houston ISD does not accept paper or emailed resume attachments for professional or certified roles.

Auxiliary Exception: If you are strictly applying for auxiliary pools (custodians, food service staff, bus drivers, or monitors), you may visit the Personnel Office in person to request a paper processing form.

Internal Applications: These profiles are reserved strictly for current, permanent full-time employees looking to request a lateral transfer or reassignment.

External Applications: These files must be filled out by all new applicants, out-of-district candidates, active substitute teachers, and contracted service employees.

Single File System: You only submit one electronic application file per school year.

Updating Vacancies: If a new vacancy opens up that matches your interests, do not start a new application. Simply log back into your existing Frontline portal account, check the new job box on the vacancy listing page, and save. The platform will automatically alert the hiring manager with a direct link to your updated profile.

College Credit Minimums: FSHISD requires a minimum of 60 documented college semester hours from an accredited college or university to act as a classroom substitute. Official, sealed registrar transcripts must be supplied.

Specialized Auxiliary Subs: Campus office subs or transportation drivers must hold a high school diploma/GED (transportation also requires a CDL with S & P endorsements).

Important Social Security / TRS Notice: FSHISD does not participate in federal Social Security. Substitute employees are automatically enrolled in an alternative 401(a) plan, unless explicitly exempt due to existing Texas TRS retirement collection.
